What Are the Different Types of Computers?

Today, computers are described using many distinct terms. Typically, simply the capacity, the anticipated use or how big the computer is indicated. However, what many of us don’t understand is that there are actually different kinds of computers.

Kinds of Computers

1. PC

A computer designed to be used by one individual is described as an individual computer (PC). While a Mac is a private computer, systems running the Windows OS are considered PCs by many people. Originally, personal computers were known as microcomputers since they were complete computers using a more compact size. The Apple iPad is the perfect example of a modern PC.

However, the internal elements of netbooks aren’t as successful as those in many notebooks.

5. PDA

PDAs or Personal Digital Assistants are incorporated computers that don’t use a hard drive but instead, use flash memory for storage. These are touchscreen devices and don’t have keyboards. Typically, PDAs are extremely lightweight, smaller than a paperback book and have a good battery life. The handheld computer is a slightly heavier and bigger version of this PDA.

The purchase price of a supercomputer could be anywhere from hundreds or thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. Vast majority of supercomputers comprise of numerous high-performance computers which operate in parallel as one single system. Cray Supercomputers have assembled the well-known supercomputers.
